 An abstract expressionist located in Hoboken, New Jersey, Charlie Steg loves exploring texture, flow and colour, mixing colours and creating his own colour combination and composition that is most satisfying to him. Charlie works primarily in oil and acrylics. Nature nurtures and refreshes him and is the major impetus for his work. Much of his inspiration arises from being outdoors in the sun, water or snow. Charlie understands the essential relationship between light and dark, the balance of yin and yang. Moving towards the light is an ongoing journey for Charlie.

Charlie Steg been drawn to beauty all his life. From pencil sketches to murals, from classic oil paintings to bright images in acrylic, he is a multifaceted artist delivering inspiration with his creative abilities. His passion for painting is evident in the themes of rhythmic color and sometimes a sense of organized deconstruction. Charlie constantly challenges himself by using contrasting elements to create tension, yet beauty; warm colors juxtaposed with coolness, smooth surfaces intertwined with textural energy.

Through the years his subjects have changed from nature into the abstract and cubism art forms. His paintings show a fascination for sharp and unusual shapes with a compilation of exceptional colour combination. Still Charlie Steg is not an artist who is easily satisfied and while developing he wants to be versatile and challenged in his working area.
